Atlanta police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal drug-related shooting that took place inside a car last month in southwest Atlanta, authorities said.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Fletcher Street about 7 p.m. on March 14 after receiving calls about a person shot, Atlanta police spokesman Officer Anthony Grant said in a news release.

When officers arrived, they discovered a man inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the torso, authorities said. The victim, later identified as 27-year-old Joshua Miller of Riverdale, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told officers that after hearing gunshots, they saw a man jump out of the vehicle and run away. Police determined the shooting was drug-related and identified 25-year-old Diquan Davis as the primary suspect, Grant said.

Davis was arrested Thursday on one count of felony murder and one count of criminal attempt to commit armed robbery and booked into the Fulton County Jail. He remains held there without bond, online records show.
