A student was arrested at a Paulding County high school after he allegedly spied on girls through holes in restroom ceilings.

Hiram High School officials were alerted Thursday about the 15-year-old boy after another student photographed the boy climbing down from the ceiling area and into a boys restroom, Paulding sheriff’s Sgt. Ashley Henson said.

School officials contacted the sheriff’s office, and detectives worked with resource officers to find the boy, Henson said.

After officials questioned him, they found at least four girls restrooms were affected, with multiple holes in each restroom ceiling, Henson said. There’s no indication photos or videos were taken.

The student has been charged with two counts of peeping Tom, a misdemeanor, and he was taken to a regional youth detention center. His name was not released because he is a juvenile.

The ceiling tiles have been repaired, according to school officials.
