Sketches, video released of man sought in assault of 2 DeKalb women

Investigators hope the 2 new sketches will help them catch their suspect.

Police in Clarkston have released sketches and a neighbor’s video in their effort to find the man who assaulted two women in their home.

The sketches show the man wearing a “newsboy” hat and a baseball cap with the letters ATL, Channel 2 Action News reported. He allegedly stole the ATL hat from the victims Friday.

The victims have confirmed that this is the man.

“It's hard to say what exactly he was doing (in the video), whether he's homeless and he's just looking for a place to stay for the night or whether he was just trying to get out of the rain,” Sgt. Jasond Elliott said. “But it does definitely tell us he was in the neighborhood the day before.”

The women suffered “significant blunt force trauma injuries” in the attack Friday, Elliott said. The incident took place about 5:25 p.m. in the 3900 block of Market Street.

The women said someone asked if they needed any work done at their house, Channel 2 reported. They said no, and he left.

When one of the women returned from work, the man was inside, and he beat her. When the other woman came home, the man attacked her.

GoFundMe page has been launched to benefit the victims.
