Stray bullets from a shooting at an East Point apartment complex narrowly missed a 1-year-old as the child sat in his walker, according to Channel 2 Action News.

Police recovered 41 shell casings after gunfire erupted Tuesday night outside the Hidden Cove apartment complex, the news station reported.

"The bullet holes are in our curtains," the child’s mother, Latoya Brown, said. "There's a bullet here where it came through the blinds."

Brown said she ducked as the bullets flew through her living room, bedroom and kitchen.

Police are still searching for the shooters. Brown’s 17-year-old neighbor was hit in the side, Channel 2 reported. His condition has not been released.

The shooting left Brown fearing for her family’s safety.

"I know from experience how it feels to bury a child,” she said. “So to think I could have buried my 1-year-old, that was just heartless.”
