A teenager was charged with aggravated assault after he allegedly shot three people in the backyard of a Henry County residence Thursday, police said.

Erick Nunez, 17, was arrested a few hours after the shooting on Redan Way in Locust Grove, Henry police Capt. Mike Ireland said.

The victims were identified as Ricky Turner, 20, Jacob Croft, 18, and Dandre Tolor, 17, according to Ireland.

Turner and Tolor were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, and Croft was taken to Atlanta Medical Center, Ireland said. Their injuries were not considered life threatening.

Police arrived at the scene about 7:30 p.m., Ireland said. Officers were told a man in a black Mercedes-Benz came to the location and opened fire on the victims, Ireland said.

“The investigation revealed the victims were at the residence hanging out with a group of friends they had met in Clayton County earlier,” Ireland said. “Witnesses stated they heard someone walking up, some words were exchanged, and then shots were fired.”

Investigators identified Nunez as the shooter.
