Two people were shot early Tuesday when intruders forced their way into a DeKalb County residence, police said.

About 1 a.m., police responded to the 4200 block of Rue Dartagnan, spokeswoman Shiera Campbell said. A 57-year-old woman had a hand wound, and a 27-year-old man was injured in a leg.

During the incident, a man knocked on the door, and when the woman answered, two people forced their way into the residence, Campbell said.

The intruders ransacked the residence and left without taking anything, police said.

The residents were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital with wounds that were not considered life threatening, Campbell said. The investigation is ongoing.
