Clayton County police Lt. Thomas Reimers takes down crime-scene tape at the scene of a deadly shooting.

A man was killed and at least three other people were injured early Wednesday when gunfire broke out in the parking lot of a restaurant and lounge, Clayton County police said.

About 1:40 a.m., officers found an unresponsive 25-year-old man outside the IceBar Lounge and Restaurant on West Fayetteville Road, Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said.

Police learned other people with gunshot wounds had taken themselves to hospitals before officers arrived, according to Marbury. At least three people had what

appear to be injuries that were not considered life threatening.

No identities were released.

The shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation that turned physical inside the restaurant, according to police.

“After being involved in a physical altercation inside of the location,” Marbury said, “several of the involved parties went out into the parking lot and shortly thereafter, several shots were fired.”

No suspect has been identified. Police are trying to determine how many people fired guns during the incident.
