A man was shot and killed on his front porch after returning home from a security job, Gwinnett County police said Friday.

George Young, 43, was killed in the incident on Montauk Hill Drive about midnight, Gwinnett police confirmed.

Several family members inside the home at the time heard the gunshots and went outside to check, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said.

That’s when they found Young on the porch. “Family members tried to render aid until an ambulance could arrive,” Pihera said.

But firefighters later determined the man died on the scene.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gwinnett detectives at 770-513-5300. Tipsters can also remain anonymous, and be eligible for rewards of up to $2,000, by contacting Crime Stoppers Atlanta at 404-577-8477 or visiting crimestoppersatlanta.org.
