Serial robbery crew hits 18 Georgia businesses, including 6 Waffle Houses

Authorities are searching for at least two people connected to a serial robbery ring in metro Atlanta.

The FBI is searching for at least two people who robbed 18 businesses in metro Atlanta, including six Waffle Houses and three banks, officials said Friday.

Guns were used in all of the robberies except the banks, where a demand note was used instead, FBI Atlanta spokesman Kevin Rowson said in a news release.

Rowson said the suspects struck businesses in DeKalb, Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale counties between Feb. 14 and as recently as Thursday, when they robbed a SunTrust Bank on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. On Tuesday, they robbed a Dollar General on Glenwood Road in Decatur.

The crews’ other robberies in the metro area include:

• Feb. 14 at a SunTrust Bank on Rockbridge Road in Stone Mountain.

• Feb. 20 at a Sam’s on Old Salem Road in Conyers.

• Feb. 28 at a Sam’s on Ga. 138 in Decatur. Later that day, they robbed a Waffle House on Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur.

• March 1 at Waffle House on Covington Highway in Decatur. Two hours later, they robbed another Waffle House on Columbia Drive in Decatur. The next day, they robbed a Family Dollar on Panola Road in Lithonia.

• March 5 at an Exxon on U.S. 278 in Covington. They robbed the same gas station again five days later. In between, on March 6, the thieves robbed a Waffle House on Sigman Road in Conyers.

• March 12 at a Waffle House on Flat Shoals Road in Conyers.

• March 14 at another Exxon on Perimeter Center East in Dunwoody. They robbed a Regions Bank on LaVista Road in Tucker roughly eight hours later.

• March 16 at a Shell on Stone Mountain Highway in Stone Mountain. Two hours later, they robbed a Waffle House on East College in Avondale.

• March 19 at a Shell on West Avenue in Conyers.
