A second suspect has been arrested and charged with what police believe was a drug-related murder at a Roswell hotel.

Roswell police spokesman Officer Zachary Frommer announced Tuesday that 44-year-old Mitchel Gibbs was arrested in College Park "with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals." Frommer called Gibbs, who was charged with murder, the "second and final suspect" in the Friday night death of 30-year-old Anthony Leftenant, who was shot multiple times at the Atlanta Hotel on Old Dogwood Road.

Another suspect in Leftenant's murder, 27-year-old Marietta resident David Spates, was arrested Sunday morning by the Cobb County police SWAT team.

Police initially said only that the shooting began as an argument between three men, and that the disagreement had spilled out of a hotel room and into a common area before several shots were fired. Frommer said Monday that the shooting “appears to have been drug-related.”

A family member told Channel 2 Action News, however, that Leftenant was not involved with drugs and was at the hotel to help a friend move.
