By Theresa Seiger, Cox Media Group National Content Desk
April 5, 2017Police asked the public to “romaine calm” after a thief swiped a commercial truck in Canada and made off with $45,000 ($33,650 USD) worth of lettuce.
Authorities said the large commercial truck and its refrigerated trailer were stolen between Friday night and Saturday afternoon from Hamilton, Ontario. The thief or thieves’ identities were not immediately known.
Police recovered the truck in Toronto, but not the truck’s trailer or the $45,000 worth of lettuce inside.
The trailer had an Ontario license plate, No. P9002D.
Authorities continued to investigate Wednesday.
