Villa Rica police are searching for two men accused of robbing a home at gunpoint Wednesday evening and then shooting at officers as they ran away.
Police responded to the home in Laurel Springs Cove about 11:30 p.m. after a resident told them two men who attended a gathering at the house stole electronics at gunpoint.
The suspects, who have not been identified, fired shots into the air as they left on foot, Villa Rica police spokesman Capt. Keith Shaddix said.
Officers located the suspects walking on Grist Mill Drive, prompting the men to run into the woods as police chased them, authorities said. During the pursuit, the men allegedly fired shots at the officers.
No one was injured, but the suspects were able to get away, Shaddix said. Police released photos of them Friday.
In the woods, investigators recovered a stolen television and a rifle they said was used in the shooting.
Anyone with information on the robbery or the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to call Villa Rica Detective Lynn Seagraves at 678-840-1321 or send an email to lseagraves@villarica.com.
