A 19-year-old from Clayton County faces murder charges after a police chase in a stolen car ended in a crash that killed two people in Arkansas, KLRT-TV in Little Rock, reported.

Gystin Michael Parker of Riverdale faces two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of George and Kathaline Luster, who were killed instantly in the Sept. 12 incident, the news station reported.

The teenager initially faced charges for theft over $5,000 and felony fleeing, but the murder charges were added Wednesday, according to Garland County Detention Center jail records.

Police in Hot Springs, Ark., called off the chase because the high speeds were becoming too dangerous on Albert Pike Road, KLRT reported. Only a few blocks down the road, Parker allegedly crashed into the Lusters’ vehicle after Hot Springs police lost sight of the car.

Parker is being held at the Garland County Detention Center without bond, jail records show.
