Roland Milton III had just arrived at his Austell Road apartment when he was jumped, shot and killed by four masked men last week.

Now, Milton’s family has increased the reward amount in the father of three’s slaying at the Crescent Square Apartments in Cobb County, Channel 2 Action News reported.

In addition to the $2,000 CrimeStoppers reward, Milton’s family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, Channel 2 reported.

Family canvassed the apartment complex Monday looking for clues. Cobb officers found Milton’s lifeless body in the parking lot Wednesday. The masked gunmen left the scene before police arrived.

“I believe they came with the intention to rob,” Milton’s brother, Eusebio Phelps, told Channel 2. “They didn’t expect him to respond in the manner that he did and they panicked and killed him.”

The men were believed to be wearing dark clothing and white gloves, police said.

Phelps said he doesn’t know why someone would kill his brother, who he said was always willing to help others.

“My brother was a community man,” Phelps said. “He was a football coach; everybody in Austell and Marietta loved my brother. He didn’t deserve this. And we will not rest as a family until we get justice for Roland.”
