$2K reward for capture of ex-DeKalb corrections officer convicted of rape

A former DeKalb County corrections officer has been on the run for five months since he was convicted in a statutory rape case. 

Now, Fulton County authorities are offering a $2,000 reward for any information that would lead to Charles Barry Pinckney’s capture.

On Nov. 21, a judge sentenced Pinckney to 45 years in prison for raping a 15-year-old girl inside his Atlanta home in December 2016, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. He has been on the run since Oct. 27. 

Pinckney has ties to Atlanta, Brunswick and Miami, according to a release from the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials are asking anyone with information regarding Pinckney’s whereabouts to contact them with tips.
