A Peachtree City man was recently arrested on a child molestation charge, according to the Fayette County Citizen.

Ty Michael Burnette, 30, is accused of molesting a child and dragging a woman up some stairs in an effort to keep her from giving evidence to authorities, Peachtree City police told the newspaper.

On Saturday, the woman contacted police to report the  alleged child molestation, the Citizen reported. It’s unclear when or where the incident took place.

The woman offered to provide video and texts to back up the child molestation accusation, but when Burnette found out, he demanded the phone, police told the newspaper.

He’s accused of dragging her in an effort to get it, netting him a simple battery-family violence charge. His relationship to the woman was not released.

Burnette was arrested the following day and he remains in the Fayette County jail without bond, according to online records.
