Days after a bomb threat forced a Columbus government building to evacuate, authorities announced an arrest in the ensuing investigation, Columbus-based news station WTVM-TV reported.

John Christian Cruz-Benitez, 28, is charged with transmitting a false public alarm and use of a communication facility in committing a crime, the news station reported.

On Thursday, the Columbus Government Center received a bomb threat, prompting an evacuation, AJC.com previously reported. An all-clear was given later that afternoon.
