A Mississippi man was arrested Wednesday, more than 15 months after he was involved in a Texas crash that killed a Marietta mother and her three children, Beaumont, Texas,-based news station KBMT reported.
Timothy Thomas Poppen, 55, is in the Jefferson County, Texas, jail on four counts of criminally negligent homicide in connection with the Sept. 20, 2018, crash, online jail records show. He was granted a $40,000 bond.

Hazardous materials were spilled during the wreck, causing multiple vehicles to catch fire. Several people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries following the wreck, Beaumont police told KBMT. Detail about what led to the crash remain unclear.

The Standberry family has also filed a federal lawsuit against the company that employed Poppen, KBMT reported.
The children killed in the wreck attended Mountain View Elementary, Channel 2 Action News reported at the time. The school put out a Facebook post telling parents what happened and offering help with grief counseling.
The family set up a GoFundMe account to help pay for funeral and medical expenses. It is still active and had raised more than $39,000 as of Thursday evening.
Poppen has a court hearing scheduled for March 2.
