Sandy Springs police are trying to find out who threw three puppies from the back of a pickup truck Saturday.

Just after 9 a.m., officers were told that the puppies were tossed from the back of a black Toyota pickup in the area of Roberts Drive and Lexington Drive, police said in a Facebook post.

“Several citizens stopped and kept the puppies on the side of the road so they wouldn’t get hit,” police said in the post.

Police contacted Belle Isle Animal Hospital, which agreed to take the puppies and be sure they are all right, according to the post.

Anyone with information about the case can call police at 770-551-6900.
