Police say a man killed a Waffle House employee Friday over a cigarette dispute.

According to WLOX, the shooting took place inside the restaurant, after an employee asked customer Johnny Max Mount to put out a cigarette he was smoking.

When Mount, 45, was told he could not smoke inside the restaurant, he reportedly exited the restaurant, went to his vehicle to retrieve a gun and re-entered the restaurant, where he shot the employee.

The employee, a 52-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries.

Mount was arrested at the scene and charged with murder. The investigation is ongoing.
