Three people are in custody after the driver of a stolen vehicle fled during a traffic stop, wrecked into several cars and then ran away, Atlanta police confirmed.

Tarik Lawrence Gray, 24, was driving the alleged stolen vehicle. He was arrested on charges of theft by receiving stolen property, criminal damage to property, obstruction of officers, fleeing and aggravated assault. Gray will have a hearing July 2.

He has been arrested in Atlanta several times in the past few years and is on probation for willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, theft by receiving stolen property, using another’s ID without consent and financial transaction card theft.

Ashley Lytle, 35, and Brenda Williams, 34, were also arrested in connection with the incident. Williams was charged with possession of methamphetamine and drug related objects.

Police told Channel 2 Action News they attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle near Washington Place and Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard on Saturday. The driver then allegedly fled the scene and eventually wrecked into multiple cars near Brawley Drive and Griffin Street, police said.

No injuries from the wreck were reported.
