Investigators in Walton County have charged a 24-year-old Monroe man with felony murder following a weekend shooting.

Qumentiz Marquez McKibben is accused of killing Shaun Barfield on Saturday, according to Monroe police Chief Keith Glass. The shooting happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Tanglewood Lane, not far from a deadly shooting hours earlier, Glass said. Investigators have not determined if the incidents are related.

McKibben, believed to be armed and dangerous, was not in custody early Friday afternoon.

He is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 145 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes. McKibben is known to frequent the Covington and Newton County area, according to police.

Anyone with information on McKibben’s whereabouts is asked to contact Detective C. Cannon at ccannon@monroega.gov or 770-266-5183 or the Athens office of the GBI at 706-552-2309.
