Police in LaGrange are looking for three people who they say lured a man to a location for what he believed was a gun sale and then robbed him.

Officers met the victim on Forrest Avenue about 12:45 p.m. Sunday, officials said.

The victim told police he had connected with a man on a sales website. He believed the man wanted to buy a gun from him and drove from Decatur to meet him, authorities said.

When the man arrived for the meeting, two other people were with him, police said. The victim said while he was speaking to the man, one of the other people hit him in the face and knocked him down.

When the victim fell, two of the suspects took pistols that he had on his person and ran away.

Investigators are still investigating the incident.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603.
