The Atlanta Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find the suspect accused of gunning down a 69-year-old veteran in his home.

According to police, Gary Walker died after being shot late Thursday near the front door of his home, located on Lorenzo Drive in southwest Atlanta. The shooting happened shortly before midnight.

Investigators believe the shooter was wearing a white surgical mask and a gray hoodie, Officer Anthony Grant said Saturday. The suspect may have fled the scene in a small black car with a loud exhaust, police said.

Walker served in both the Navy and Air Force, his family told investigators.

Tipsters do not have to provide their name in order to be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
