A man was beaten with a baseball bat after attempting to pay for marijuana with movie prop money in Athens, according to a media report.

Ramon Tyres Jones, 30, used a baseball bat to beat a man because he “was angry at (the man) for receiving two motion picture $100 bills” in payment for the pot, the Athens Banner-Herald reported.

The victim suffered injuries to his nose, shoulder, elbow and head and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, the paper reported.

The fake money, which is clearly marked “FOR MOTION PICTURE USE ONLY,” is available online, the paper reported. It is appearing more in Athens.

In July, three people were arrested after allegedly attempting to pass movie prop money at a McDonald's drive-thru, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution previously reported. That incident led to drug charges against two of the suspects.
