A Florida man was charged with stealing a $60,000 BMW after his attempt to buy the car with food stamps failed, police said.
According to the New York Daily News, Nicholas Jackson, 36, entered a Pompano Beach BMW dealership on Thursday and attempted to buy a BMW X-6 with an electronic benefits transfer card and a credit card. A day after he was turned away, police said the dealership was burglarized and 60 sets of keys were taken.
Martin County Sheriff’s deputies found Jackson and the stolen vehicle in Palm City, Florida, where they said he ended up after the car ran out of gas.
