A man who has made appearances on VH1’s “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” has been questioned in connection with a shooting that left two men dead, Atlanta police said.
Lyndon Akhil Smith, better known as “Sas,” allegedly witnessed the Aug. 27 shooting that killed Omar Salahuddin and Ryan Pittman, authorities said.
The incident started as an exchange of gunfire outside a Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Quick Mart gas station around 11:30 p.m., according to a police incident report.
Salahuddin, 40, of Atlanta, was found shot in the head at the gas station and taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he later died, officials said.
Pittman, 26, of Mableton, attempted to drive away, but he careened across a grassy field, jumped a curb and hit another vehicle entering the ramp onto I-285, according to the report.
He was found dead behind the wheel when officers arrived, the report said. The driver of the second vehicle in the crash was uninjured.
Police have not announced arrests in the case.
“Investigators have spoken with Mr. Smith,” Atlanta police spokesman John Chafee told AJC.com in an emailed statement. “At this time, there is nothing new to release.”
