Atlanta police are investigating after a man was found shot twice and killed Monday in southeast Atlanta.

Police responded to 340 Thomasville Boulevard just before 4:30 p.m. and found a man, believed to be in his late 30s, next to a car with a gunshot wound to his chest, Investigator James White said.

Police told Channel 2 Action News they believe it was a targeted attack. Authorities said the suspect, who is about 6 foot tall, was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans and driving a red Ford F-150 with rear-end damage.

The investigation is ongoing.
