A Kennesaw man thought he was seducing a 14-year-old girl he had met online, but he actually was speaking to an undercover Marietta police detective the entire time, authorities said.

David Lee Fancher, 49, was arrested on a felony charge last Wednesday after he tried to set up a meeting to sexually abuse the child, according to his arrest warrant.

Between Jan. 15 and Wednesday, Fancher messaged the undercover detective, who was online posing as a teenage girl, the warrant said. In the chat, Fancher allegedly described sexual acts he wished to perform on the other person, despite thinking he was messaging a juvenile.

At one point, Fancher sent the detective a picture of his genitals, the warrant said. The two agreed to meet in the 900 block of Whitlock Avenue, which led to Fancher’s arrest.

He was booked on a count of using a computer service to seduce, elicit, lure or entice a child to commit an illegal act, according to Cobb County jail records. He was released later that day on a $16,720 bond.
