Police in Texas were able to nab burglary suspects Thursday after they had trouble getting away with the loot.

That’s because the loot was contained in a large safe, and the suspects were caught on surveillance video attempting to load the safe into a sedan-sized getaway car.

A homeowner received a cellphone message about a motion detector sensor being tripped at his home, so he called 911.

When the suspects could not get the safe into the back seat of the car, they abandoned the vehicle and were caught after a brief pursuit by police, according to WFAA.

Joel Rene Perez, 20, and Oscar Perez Jr., 21, were arrested at the scene. They each face a felony charge of burglary of a habitation. A third man detained during the incident will not be charged and has been released.
