Family and friends of a 30-year-old man who died following an altercation with Barrow County Sheriff's deputies say he was a big man with a big heart.

Questions surround the circumstances leading to the death of Charlie Williams, which occurred Jan. 27 as he was being transported to the Barrow Detention Center. The GBI, which is investigating the deputies’ response, said he was combative until the end.

On Thursday, his parents will be shown selected segments of video footage capturing Williams’ final moments. Deputies discovered Williams had stopped breathing after they managed to subdue him, and he was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital.
