A Coweta County father killed a woman and then himself Sunday evening while the couple’s daughters sat in the back seat of the family’s car, authorities said.

Col. James Yarbrough confirmed to AJC.com that Coweta County sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Ga. 154 around 10 p.m. Sunday. They found two girls sitting outside a BMW parked in the driveway, shaken but unharmed.

Inside the car, deputies discovered the bodies. Investigators believe the man shot the woman before turning the gun on himself, Yarbrough confirmed.

Authorities have not released any further information about the shootings or the identities of the victims. Their daughters’ ages are unknown.
