Officer injured, man arrested after crash, chase in South Fulton

A South Fulton police officer was injured after a crash, officials said.
A man was arrested after a crash and chase that left a South Fulton police officer injured, Channel 2 Action News reported.
The series of events began Monday afternoon when police say the man pulled a gun on another man, Channel 2 reported.
Officers located the suspect and followed him. He crashed into a van at the intersection of Flat Shoals Road and Old National Highway, police told the news station.
An officer attempted to detain the man, who got out of his car and ran.
South Fulton police Det. Partrena Smith confirmed one officer was injured during the confrontation. He was carted away in an ambulance with a hurt leg but is expected to be OK, Channel 2 reported.
