A Peachtree City police officer was attacked by two “impaired” people while handling a domestic disturbance call early Sunday, authorities said.

During the struggle with the people on Birkhill, one suspect was able to fire the officer’s gun, which was in its holster, the department said on Facebook.

The shot “grazed” another resident, who sustained a minor injury, police said.

Two officers were taken to a hospital for treatment and released, authorities said.

Police charged two Peachtree City residents after the incident.

Yasmeen Griffin, 22, of Birkhill, and Samuel E. Taylor, 19, of Flatcreek Court are facing several aggravated assault, obstruction and battery  charges.
