An assisted living facility nurse was arrested amid allegations he stole patients’ medications, Channel 2 Action News reported.

Investigators allege Allan Kenny stole the medications from Benton House in Woodstock after they were dispensed but before they were delivered to residents, Channel 2 reported.

Kenny was initially pulled over for an expired tag, but Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies noticed suspicious packages in the car, authorities told the news station.

“Those agents went down, started looking through the car (and) found Fentanyl, methadone (and) a variety of drugs, some of which were labeled in the names of patients,” Cherokee County Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad Commander Phil Price told Channel 2.

Authorities estimate nearly a dozen patients’ medications were stolen. They are investigating if any of the patients suffered when they didn’t receive their medications.

The facility said it is cooperating with authorities.
