Georgia man who allegedly shot at police during arrest attempt now in custody

A Georgia man who was wanted after he fired a gun while being pursued by officers in Walton County has been arrested, authorities said Monday afternoon.

Police said they were serving a warrant Sunday to Donta Rajee Robertson, 29, at his home at the Pine Ridge Villa apartment complex when he began to run away, Monroe police said in a news release.

When officers went after him, Robertson fired a gun. Officers did not exchange gunfire with him, the release said. No one was injured.

Police did not release any information about the initial arrest warrant or the charges Robertson will face.

Authorities, including a SWAT team, searched the nearby West Monroe Villa apartment complex but were unable to find Robertson, according to the release.

Robertson was arrested Monday afternoon by U.S. Marshals at the intersection of Martin Luther King Drive and Northside Drive.

Robertson was arrested Monday by U.S. Marshals at about 4:20 p.m. at a family member’s Atlanta home on Markham Street after authorities received a tip, according to the news release.

No other information was released.
