Police are searching for a man who allegedly shot at a vehicle belonging to his child’s mother Thursday night outside a southwest Atlanta apartment.

SWAT was called to the woman’s apartment in the 3000 block of Continental Colony Parkway after the man, identified as Kevin Bennett, ran inside with their 10-year-old, police told Channel 2 Action News.

“Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who advised that she was in a verbal dispute with her child’s father when he started to shoot at her vehicle,” Atlanta police said in a statement.

When SWAT officers searched the home, they could not find Bennett inside. The child was not harmed, police said.

The search for Bennett continues. He is wanted on charges of criminal damage to property in the second degree, reckless conduct and weapons.

Bennett has black hair and brown eyes and is 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds, according to police. He is considered armed and dangerous.
