The Red Cross is assisting nearly 30 people who lost their homes Thursday in an Atlanta apartment complex fire.

The blaze took place at the Elite at City Park Apartments at 415 Fairburn Road, the nonprofit said in a news release. The complex is located near the city’s southwestern limits, which is just outside of the Perimeter.

Seven units were damaged, displacing 29 people, the Red Cross said. The nonprofit’s volunteers are assisting them with temporary lodging, food, clothing, personal care items and health services.

No other information on the incident was immediately available. AJC.com has reached out to Atlanta Fire Rescue for more information on the fire.
