Police in New Jersey say a man tried to light himself on fire at a gas station.
Scott Kuzma, chief law enforcement officer of the Woodbridge Police Department, told NJ.com that 35-year-old Michael Green poured 17 gallons of gas on himself at a Shell station in Woodbridge, New Jersey. The incident happened Friday afternoon.
Kuzma said Green tried to use a lighter to ignite the fuel, but it wouldn't catch fire. Police took Green, who lives in Ridgeville, Ohio, to a hospital for evaluation, NJ.com reported.
Police charged Green with risking widespread injury or damage.
