Officers are investigating a domestic incident that ended with a woman stabbing her son in the stomach, authorities said.

Just after 2:45 p.m. Friday, officers found the injured man in a home off Landrum Drive, Atlanta police said. He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he is stable.

Investigators believe the mother and son were in an argument when she stabbed him. The man’s stepmother was also there and suffered a minor cut to her arm while trying to break up the fight, police said.

When officers arrived, the mother had already fled, police said.

Authorities have not released the names of anyone involved. No other details were provided.
