An Oakwood woman may face more charges after a man she was with was fatally shot early Saturday in Braselton, the Gainesville Times reported.
Angela Baker, 28, was charged with obstruction, tampering with evidence and theft in connection with the death of James Walls of Flowery Branch, the paper reported.
Walls, 56, was found dead about 1 a.m. at the Circle K gas station at highways 124 and 211, the paper reported.
Baker also may be charged with being a party to a crime and conspiracy to commit a crime, Braselton Police Chief Terry Esco said. Baker’s mother, who has not been identified, also may be charged, according to the report.
Braselton police said Baker and Walls went to a Waffle House to meet someone.
“Her story is … someone owed (Walls) $500 and he was there to collect it,” Assistant Police Chief Lou Solis told the Times. “Next thing you know, the guy they’re waiting for pulls up. She says she doesn’t know him.”
