Gwinnett police say they have linked a teen already jailed in connection with two violent armed robberies to another armed robbery in unincorporated Snellville.

Jashon Aaron Samuels, 18, has been charged with armed robbery, hijacking a motor vehicle, and battery in connection with an incident on Cherie Glen Trail on May 1, Gwinnett police Cpl. Michele Pihera said Thursday.

About midnight, police responded to a carjacking call in the 2400 block of Cherie Glen Trail. Dispatchers told officers a victim was sitting on a porch covered in blood, Pihera said.

The victim told police he met up with a person named “Frankie” about 11:30 p.m. The victim arranged to pick “Frankie” up in the 3000 block of Cherie Glen Trail. When the victim pulled up, “Frankie” was waiting outside, Pihera said.

Shortly after “Frankie” got into the victim’s car, “Frankie” said he forgot something and had to go back inside the home. After returning, “Frankie” got into the passenger seat. Frankie then reached for the victim’s car keys and tried to remove them from the ignition.

At the same time, two unknown males ran to the vehicle and opened the doors on the driver’s side, Pihera said. “Frankie” and the two other males began to physically assault the victim. The victim was pulled into the backseat as another man pointed a handgun at him. The victim was able to push the suspects away and get out the car. He called for help from a nearby residence, Pihera said.

“Frankie” and the two other men drove off in the victim’s car, and officers found it about 30 minutes later in the 3900 block of Tanglewood Road. Some of the victim’s property was recovered.

The Gwinnett detective on the case was assigned to the cases on Stone Mountain Highway, and noted the incidents’ similarities, Pihera said. The detective showed a photo lineup of possible suspects to the victim, and the victim identified Samuels as Frankie.

Samuels is one of four teenagers from Snellville charged in connection with two violent armed robberies that occurred Friday afternoon in the 3300 block of Stone Mountain Highway.
