Authorities have arrested three more suspects in a violent armed robbery at an apartment complex advertised exclusively to Kennesaw State University students.

That brings the total number of people charged in the incident to six.

In late January, a group broke into an apartment at the U Club on Frey about midnight, robbing and attacking two men while nearly beating a woman to death, AJC.com previously reported. Three suspects were arrested earlier this month, but that number doubled after new arrests this week.

On Wednesday, deputies arrested Zavian Jermaine Stevenson, 17, and Qwantavis Jeffery Lamar Evans, 21, while 19-year-old Qwantrell Jarell Evans was taken into custody Thursday, according to Cobb County jail records. The men are all from Dallas in Paulding County.

The three suspects previously charged in this incident are Madalyn Nicole Hooker, 17, of Woodstock, Bryce Dowell, 17, of Hiram, and Dameyon Heck, 18, of Woodstock.

On the night of the robbery, one man was robbed of his iPhone 11 Pro Max, while another man fought to keep his phone, according to arrest warrants. Both were beaten at gunpoint, authorities said.

However, a woman “could have been reasonably” killed due to the suspects punching and kicking her head and neck during the incident, the warrants said.

Seven other people were in the room at the time, but they weren’t harmed, according to police. However, each suspect faces a simple assault charge for each witness, since they were close to the violence, the warrants said.

The attack was partially captured on cellphone video,  authorities said. That video has not been made public.

Hooker admitted to police that she drove the group to the apartment complex and witnessed the robberies and assaults before driving the group away from the scene, according to her warrant.

The apartment complex, which is off Frey Road, is within half a mile of KSU's main campus. U Club on Frey bills itself on its website as a community of "student apartments."

University officials could not say if any of the suspects or victims in the attack were students.

After the initial three arrests, Kennesaw police spokesman Officer Scott Luther said his department wouldn’t release additional information since “this is a very active and ongoing investigation.” AJC.com has reached out to him again after the three new arrests this week to see if more information on this case can be released.

All six suspects face the same 12 charges, which include five felonies. Those felonies consist of three counts of aggravated assault and two counts of armed robbery.

The suspects remain in jail without bond, records show.
