An arrest was made Monday in a fatal hit-and-run that happened nearly 10 months ago in Spalding County, authorities said.

Marcus Allen, 34, is accused of hitting and killing Joshua Shaun Wright while he was traveling on his bicycle on Old Atlanta Road on Feb. 19, the Georgia State Patrol said in a news release.

Allen drove his 2001 Dodge Caravan behind Wright, hitting his bike with the right front side of his car before driving away, the release said.

The Spalding County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.

Allen faces charges of homicide by vehicle, first-degree leaving the scene of an accident, driving with a suspended license and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, Spalding County jail records show.

He remains in the Spalding County Jail without bond, according to jail records.
