A 7-year-old boy who was reported missing was found with black eyes, swelling, contusions, lacerations and abrasions that required medical attention, the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said.

Now his mother and a man face child cruelty charges in connection with the incident, sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Wilbanks said in a statement.

Authorities went to an address in the 4200 block of Riviere Point about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a report of a missing child, according to the sheriff’s office.

The child was found several hours later on the back porch of a house in the neighborhood, Wilbanks said.

According to warrants, Tarissa Anne Johnson, 34, and Jonathon Everette Hardin, 31, hit the child. Both were arrested on charges of first degree cruelty to children. Hardin is Johnson’s boyfriend, according to a report.

The state Division of Family and Children Services has been notified of the case.

The child’s condition was not immediately clear.
