Two Douglasville men were arrested in connection with a fatal shooting at a Powder Springs home, Cobb County police said Monday.

Mikal Reid, 24, and Ross Roberts, 25, face felony murder, aggravated assault and armed robbery charges in the shooting death of 20-year-old Dazel Johnson, Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

Johnson was found with multiple gunshot wounds Saturday afternoon inside a home in the 5100 block of Glendora Drive, Pierce said. He was taken to WellStar South Cobb Hospital, where he died.

Police said Roberts visited the home to buy marijuana from Johnson, according to warrants obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“At some point, (Roberts) attempted to rob Johnson at gunpoint,” Officer Jonathan P. Bratley wrote in the warrant. “There was a physical struggle and shots were fired at Johnson.”

Police said Roberts took Johnson’s money, marijuana and cellphone. The warrant names Reid as a co-defendant in the case but doesn’t specify his role in the crime.

During the investigation, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office officials identified Reid and Roberts as suspects to Cobb police.

Anyone with information is asked to call Cobb police at 770-499-3945.
