ORIGINAL STORY: Those feeling lucky will want to keep an eye on the Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots, because at least one person is in for a serious payday.
Since March 15, the Mega Millions jackpot has rolled over 22 times, and it’s now worth $444 million, according to Georgia Lottery spokeswoman Nia Roberts. The Powerball jackpot, which has rolled over 18 times since March 30, is worth $350 million.
Anyone that gets lucky and wins Friday night’s Mega Millions jackpot can redeem their winnings in two ways, Roberts said. The prize can be collected in 29 annual payments, or it can be cashed out for approximately $281 million.

If someone wins the Powerball jackpot Saturday, they’ll have to make the same choice. That jackpot can spread out via 30 payments over 29 years or cashed out for approximately $221 million, she said.
It costs $2 to purchase a ticket for either lottery jackpot.
