Marissa Marie Diana spent the Fourth of July doing exactly what Jimmy Buffet sang about in his 1977 classic: wastin’ away again in Margaritaville.

Authorities responded to a newly-branded water park of the same name, which is at Lanier Islands, and arrested the 23-year-old New Yorker on a charge of public drunkenness.

All was well until Hall County sheriff’s deputies placed her in the back of a patrol car.

“Ms. Diana kicked the rear window out of the patrol car,” agency spokesman Lt. Scott Ware said Friday in a statement.

Things continued to spiral out of control.

“Ms. Diana then kicked one of the deputies in the face,” Ware said.

So instead of one charge of public drunkenness, Diana is sitting in the Hall County Jail on additional charges of felony obstruction and interference with government property in lieu of $11,530 bond.

Blame it on a lost shaker of salt, perhaps?
