Man, woman shot in vehicle at SW Atlanta fast-food restaurant

Police found a man who had been shot in the head and a woman who was shot in the leg.

A man and a woman were shot Sunday night while they sat in a car outside a southwest Atlanta fast-food restaurant, Channel 2 Action News reported.

The two were stable when officers responded to the combined KFC and Taco Bell in the 3600 block of Bakers Ferry Road about 8:15 p.m., Atlanta police told the news station. Both were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the victims were inside their vehicle at the location when two males approached and fired into the vehicle several times, striking the female in her leg and the male in his head,” police spokesman Sgt. John Chafee said.

Investigators were gathering information Sunday night and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, he said. Suspects have not been identified, but they may be driving a maroon SUV, according to Channel 2.
