Officers apprehended a suspect in the armed robbery of a Smyrna bank Wednesday morning.

Smyrna Police detectives and FBI agents are working together on this case, and "charges are pending against Darius Caldwell," according to a news release from the agency.

Officers responded to a call at the Bank of America located at 4567 S. Cobb Drive about 10:10 a.m.

According to police, a man came into the bank wearing a blue bandana carrying a black pistol and demanding money from the bank tellers. After getting an unreleased amount of money, the man ran.

A citizen who "observed some suspicious behavior in the area of the Bank of America then called 911 to report it," according to police.

When police nabbed the man, he was wearing a "dread-locks style hair wig," the agency said. They also recovered the money and gun.
